Patrick (Pa) Kearney

 

Pa Kearney who was involved in a car accident in late October. Pa sustained very serious injuries and was hospitalised in the Mater Hospital, for a number of weeks.  He has subsequently been transferred to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire where he is expected to remain for the foreseeable future.
Ballyduff G.A.A. Club has decided to fundraise to partially cover the huge costs incurred on the Kearney family as a result of Pa’s accident and hospitalisation and we earnestly appeal for your support.


Successful Entertainment night in aid of the Pa Kearney Benevolent Fund   
Our Entertainment Extravaganza last Saturday night December 12th was a great success with a large turnout from clubs and communities throughout Waterford and East Cork in aid of the Pa Kearney Fundraiser. Entertainment was as follows: In the Log Cabin a Traditional Music Session with Tony Dunne / Gerry McKee with Special Guests the 1982 All-Ireland Scór Champions, in Tobin’s Bar a Sing-along with Mossie & Pat, in The Paddocks by  The Wren Boys and in An Sibín a Disco with D.J. Adrian. Maurice Geary Chairman of Ballyduff Upper GAA Club thanked the organizing committee and all who had given their support in any way to the fundraising in recent weeks. James Kearney spoke on behalf of his brother Pa and the Kearney family and thanked everyone for the goodwill shown to them during what has been a very difficult time for them.  


Munster GAA Council Chairman, Jimmy O’Gorman presided over the draw of the winning raffle tickets in The Paddocks Bar and he complimented the club and the community for the spirit it had displayed in response to Pa’s accident.


The prizewinners in the raffle were:
1st James Hannon Ballysaggart Lismore, Two Premium match tickets Ireland v Wales at Croke Park.
2nd   Owen Flynn Ballinlovane, Complimentary Admission for 6 people with dinner at Naas Races.
3rd Adam Kelly C/o Centra Lismore, Two All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final Tickets.
4th Brendan O’Regan Parkmountain Youghal, Two Premium match tickets Ireland v Scotland at Croke Park.
5th Joe Barry C/o Tony Morrison, Weekend away for two at any Flynn Hotel.
6th Kevin Supple C/o Tommy Byrne, Jersey signed by Waterford All-Stars.
7th Pat Dorgan C/o Tony Morrison, Christmas Hamper.
8th Jim Dee Dungarvan, Lunch for two at The Cliff Hotel Ardmore.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who sponsored raffle prizes or made anonymous donations to the fund and to the members of the Waterford hurling teams who attended the event on Saturday night to lend their support to the fundraising.
